This kit consists of:
BMW Mini single Din radio fascia adapter panel 50-117
Car radio fascia adaptor panel to allow the fitting of an aftermarket single din car radio upgrade.
The fascia adaptor allows the fitting of an aftermarket radio into the dashboard by matching the shape, style and colour of the original radio.
A Single Din radio fits into the fascia using the fitting cage supplied with the radio.
The fascia is designed to fit Mini cooper S (2002-2006) and Mini One (2001-2006).
Mini <06 SWC interface with Harman/Kardon enabler 29-628HKM
This interface allows the audio controls on the steering wheel to work with an aftermarket head unit. This lead also has a special interface to retain the use of the original Harman/Kardon amplifier.
Works with Mini One and Cooper cars with the boost CD original radio and Harman/Kardon original amplifiers.
Must be used with patch lead to suit make of head unit being fitted.
Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony.
There are a few cars with Casette head units and harman/kardon amplified audio systems, this interface will also work with these cars.
Sony steering wheel control input patch lead for 29-XXX series steering control interfaces 29-008
This short adapter lead connects the 29- series InCarTec interface box to the steering wheel remote input on the back of a Sony radio. The steering remote input on a Sony radio is usually labelled "REMOTE", it is a 3.5mm jack input socket. Suitable for all Sony single DIN and double DIN car radio head units.
Fakra to DIN car aerial antenna adapter cable 21-106
This cable adapts from a Farka antenna connection at the back of the cars original radio to a standard aftermarket DIN antenna connection to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade.
This is a passive adapter cable, not suitable for cars that need a phantom power supply to turn on the antenna amplifier.
The new MINI was released by BMW for the 2002 model year in three specifications:
One and Cooper 3 door hatchback (R50) 2002-2006
One, Cooper and Cooper S convertible (R52) 2004-2008
Cooper S 3 door hatchback (R53) 2002-2006
While the first generation of Mini hatchback was replaced by the second generation (R56) in 2007, the convertible continued to be sold until its replacement arrived in 2008.
An optional amplified Harmon Kardon sound system was available. mostly fitted to cars with the Boost CD player or navigation system. A different wiring harness is needed for these cars when changing the radio (29-628HKM) and the standard speaker adapter cables will not fit these cars.
Models with factory navigation can have either a CD player or cassette player. The navigation system is separate to the radio and runs from its own DVD player, so has no bearing on what parts are needed to change the radio.
