Complete stereo upgrade fitting kit to install a single or double DIN aftermarket radio in an Audi A3 8P facelift.
This head unit fitting kit includes:
-Fascia adapter panel (50-271)
-CAN ignition interface for plug and play installation (part of 20-254-IGN)
-Quadlock to ISO harness adapter cable (20-254-IGN)
-Antenna adapter cable (21-139)
This fitting kit is supplied with a fascia adapter panel suitable for a single or double din aftermarket radio. The fascia adapter allows the fitting of an aftermarket radio into the dashboard by matching the shape and style of the original radio. Use the fascia with the supplied pocket to fit a single din radio, or use the fascia adapter panel only with the fitting cage supplied with the new radio to install a double din radio. The fascia panel takes a 113mm high fitting cage, this is the standard aftermarket size supplied with most major brand car stereo manufacturers.
A Quadlock to ISO adapter cable with CANbus ignition is supplied in the kit. This cable adapts from the original connector in the car, known as a quadlock, to standard aftermarket connectors for the new stereo, known as ISO connectors. The CANbus ignition interface generates a key present ignition supply to the new stereo, this means the stereo will turn on with the first click of the key and stay on until the key is removed from the ignition barrel. This interface is built into the Quadlock to ISO harness adapter so installation is plug and play.
The plug and play Quadlock to ISO cable also has a built in high to low level adapter for the amplified speakers. Audi cars have fully amplified or rear amplified audio systems, this adapter cable works with both audio systems. The adapter allows the new stereo to work with the original amplifier which drives all the speakers in the car and the subwoofer. The high to low level adapter gives a much cleaner audio signal to the amplifier compared to using line output phono leads.
A double Fakra to DIN antenna adapter is included in the kit. This adapts from the original style antenna connectors in the car, known as Fakra connectors, to a standard aftermarket connector for the new stereo, known as a DIN connector.
