BMW car audio standard factory systems suck, the new 5 series has tiny door speakers and a small under-seat midrange speaker all driven full range with no crossovers, they sound terrible. What can you do? Check out Four masters Facebook page. Chris Woods has just installed an Audison system into one of Four’s demo cars. BMW E61 5 Series Touring. Using the new Audison Bit 10 to modify the standard BMW factory headunit audio output and then amplify it and finally drive new Voce speakers and Skinz sound protection system, what a difference!
BMW enthusiasts and forums have been complaining about the poor quality of sounds for years, see this old post:
With the new Audison Bit ten it is now possible to take the high level speaker output from the factory headunit and completely flatten or de-equalize the signal before further enhancing with time alignment and re-EQ and when married to a decent amplifier and speakers with tweeters the correct staging and separation can be achieved. This system can be applied aftermarket to any standard car audio system.
