There are two main systems from Clifford, the 4203X has one button remote and the 4202X has five button remote. They can be installed into just about any vehicle even ones with manual gearboxes. Of course automatics can’t start in gear so with manual cars there is a procedure that needs to be followed before leaving the car which ensures the car is in neutral, this involves pressing the remote button whilst the engine is still running then removing the key (engine remains running) exit the vehicle and lock the door (engine stops). When you come back to the car you can remote start as long as you have not unlocked the doors first.

The range of the remotes is so long that they have two way communication with the vehicle so if you are in the house and you start the car you get LED warning indicators telling you whether you have successfully started the car or not. Once started the engine can be set to time out and stop after 10 – 30 or 60 minutes so you don’t forget and come back to an empty fuel tank.

The basic system may need additional modules depending on vehicle model and type. You may need a Transponder Bypass module if your car has an transponder type immobiliser fitted. You will most likely need a Remote Start key Interface which again is vehicle specific and the Xpresskit Interface module allows the CAN-BUS system to be programmed to the device for specific instructions.

Clifford are so confident of the reliability of this kit that they offer a lifetime guarantee on the electronics and twelve months on the keyfob remotes.

These are not DIY devices and can be installed at our workshops or we can recommend a certified Clifford installer near you if you contact us.
